Learning objectives:
• Understand the clinical manifestations of peripheral arterial disease
• History, clinical examination, and ankle brachial pressure index
• Understand anatomy of the peripheral arteries of the lower limb
• Investigation and management of patients with PAD
• Multidisciplinary approach including risk factor control, anti-platelet
therapy, principles of revascularization with angioplasty and stenting
in peripheral arteries
• Adjunctive treatment to foot wounds such as debridement,
amputation, and use of different types of dressings including vacuum
assisted closure devices, and also rehabilitation and physiotherapy
