During emergency EVAR, an

       intra-aortic occlusive balloon

       in the descending thoracic or

       suprarenal aorta can sometimes

be used in patients with very low
       blood pressure, to allow the

       anesthetists to adequately

       resuscitate the patient. The
       balloon may be placed and

       inflated under direct fluoscopy.

       This is called resuscitative
       endovascular balloon occlusion of

       the aorta (REBOA).
