As we approach the holiday season, I would like to wish you all a safe and
happy Christmas and New Year.

While our activities are slightly reduce due to the seasonal changes and Covid
reductions, there are enough challenging cases to once again provide an

enriched experience in the dynamic field of Vascular Surgery.

In this issue we examined complications of patients with Marfan Syndrome,
presented the ever present problems of chronic lower limb ischemia, discussed

the anatomical considerations of EVAR, and the consequences of wrong
decisions. The venous section presented the difficulties of SVC obstruction,

access issues, as well as IVC filters. I tried to make this issue a little more
compact and reduce the unnecessary flair of too many videos to ease the
reading experience.

We are also happy to see the opening of a newly renovated K11 hybrid
operating theatre with a brand new floor mounted angiographic unit that
provided superior imaging.

Stephen Cheng 54-year old lady had a family history of Marfan Syndrome noticed a

Head, Department of Surgery A pulsatile abdominal mass. In view of connective tissue disease a CT

of the whole aorta was done. This confirms that she has a 5.6cm infrare-

nal AAA and also a large 7.3cm aneurysm of the aortic root at the sinus of
the ascending aorta. Incidentally she also has a bovine aortic arch and the

heart is also enlarged.
