CNVII RESECTION

CNVII resection is associated with significant disfigurement and adverse functional status and
                      quality of life.

As a result, after CNVII resection, primary nerve repair should be performed after ascertaining

microscopic tumour clearance on frozen section.

Radiotherapy has no significant adverse effect on nerve graft function:

                      • First signs of recovery established at 6 months post operation

                      • House Brackmann score of III-IV within the first two post operative years

                                                                                                                                Ann Maxillofac Surg. 2015 Jul-Dec;5(2):203-207.
