CNVII RESECTION
CNVII resection is associated with significant disfigurement and adverse functional status and
quality of life.
As a result, after CNVII resection, primary nerve repair should be performed after ascertaining
microscopic tumour clearance on frozen section.
Radiotherapy has no significant adverse effect on nerve graft function:
• First signs of recovery established at 6 months post operation
• House Brackmann score of III-IV within the first two post operative years
