All branches of the CNVII were dissected free from tumour starting from the main trunk in an
antegrade approach. The superficial lobe of the parotid gland (lateral to CNVII) was then
retracted (left). The main trunk and each branch of the CNVII were carefully dissected free of
parotid gland tissue and the deep lobe of the parotid gland (medial to CNVII) was removed.
Photo on the right shows the main trunk and all branches of the CNVII after total conservative
parotidectomy.
