      Infected Brachiocephalic AV Fistula

      Aneurysm

A 68-year-old end-staged renal failure patient is dialysing via his right brachiocephalic
AV fistula 3 times a week. Because of repeated needling of AVF, a 4x5cm aneurysm has

developed and he complained of increasing pain and erythema over the aneurysm.
Clinically there was sign of fluctuation over the needling site with small amount of
purulent discharge, which was compatible with an infected AV fistula aneurysm. A

temporary left femoral central venous catheter was placed for dialysis.
