Static obstruction due to aortic dissection. The dissection flaps extends A 45 years old patient presented with 6 hours history of sudden onset
into the side branch from the aorta. The pressured false lumen compresses severe back pain, together with coldness, numbness and weakness of the
onto the true lumen of the branch and cause thrombus formation and right leg. The right femoral pulse was not palpable and the right leg
abstruction (F denotes false lumen, and T denotes true lumen). appears iscahemic. Emergency CT showed very narrow true lumen in the
infrarenal aorta, and dynamic obstruction of the right common iliac artery.

In dynamic obstruction, the blood flow in diastole is normal, but greatly
reduced in systole due to bowing or prolapsing of the aortic flap to cover
the side-branch ostia.
