Pneumatic boots are inflatable cushions wrapped
around the lower limb and intermittently inflated to
prevent DVT.
These intermittent calf compression devices are not
suitable in patient with history of peripheral arterial
disease, or those without palpable pedal pulses, as the
pneumatic compression may lead to worsening lower
limb ischaemia.
