A 57-year-old female presented with bilateral lower limb
swelling and abdominal distention. Duplex ultrasound showed
bilateral lower limb deep vein thrombosis at popliteal veins,
superficial femoral veins and common femoral veins. CT scan
showed 10x16cm left ovarian mass. She was put on low
molecular weight injection and plan for TAHBSO.
Owing to bleeding risk perioperatively, anti-coagulation need to
be withheld, an Optease retrievable IVC filter was deployed at
the infra-renal IVC via right internal jugular venous approach on
the same day before TAHBAO. Operation was performed
uneventfully without major complications.
