Factors contributing to diabetic foot:




        Wounds in foot may be unnoticed due to peripheral neuropathy

        Poor wound healing due to hyperglycaemia
        Neuropathic osteoarthropathy causing deformity and trauma by shoe

        wears

        Some may have coexisting peripheral vascular disease

                                                                                                                                     Patient may require revascularization of the peripheral vascular
                                                                                                                                     disease (e.g., Angioplasty/ stenting/ bypass) , and extensive de-

                                                                                                                                     bridement of the infected tissue




                                                                                                                                     This patient had a Ray Amputation of the second toe
