Angiogram showed very calcified arteries. The superficial femoral artery (SFA, yellow
arrow) was occluded in midthigh. The deep/profunda femoral artery (PFA, green ar-
row) was relatively disease free. The PFA is an important artery that provide collater-
als to the lower limb (see above).
GOAL: You should be able to differentiate the SFA from the PFA on lower limb angio-
grams.
LOWER LIMB ANGIOGRAM of a 82 year old man with long
standing diabetes mellitus and renal impairment and suffered a foot ulcer. The
36 angiogram was performed with the aim of revascularization but failed. What 37
do you see?
