Type A Dissection

A 44 year old obese lady complained of sudden on set of severe chest pain. CXR showed
some suspicions of a widened mediastinum. CT thorax confirmed a type A aortic dissection.
The aortic arch was completely disrupted and the true lumen was severely compressed distal-
ly. Noted the R renal artery was compromised on the CT scan and the R kidney was not opaci-

fied by contrast.
