Eight years later, he developed sudden onset severe lower back pain whilst having a
meal, and felt unwell with persistent back pain and abdominal discomfort. He was
rushed to his local hospital by ambulance. He was tachycardic and his haemoglobin
has dropped from a baseline of 11.6 g/dL to 7.2 g/dL.
An emergency CT showed significant endoleak with rupture into the left side
retroperitoneal space (arrowed).
