   We should all be aware of the nomenclature of the upper limb arteries. On the right, the

   subclavian artery is from the innominate artery; and on the left, it derives directly from the
   aortic arch. The subclavian artery travels laterally towards the axilla. At the lateral border of
   the first rib, it is renamed the axillary artery. At the lower border of the teres major muscle,

   the axillary artery is renamed the brachial artery. As the brachial artery enters the
   antecubital fossa underneath the bicipital aponeurosis (relationship is median nerve,
   brachial artery, and biceps tendon from medial to lateral), it bifurcates into the radial and

   ulnar arteries.
