Chronic Type A Dissection
This 80-year old man with multiple co-morbidities suffered an acute Type A dissection/intramural
hemaotma, likely related to a coronary angiogram. The arrow indicated a clear cut defect in the
wall of the ascending aorta, close to the coronary origin. There was no good endovascular option to
treat this. In view of his co-morbidities, no intervention was offered.
Two years later the “dissection” or pseudoaneurysm remained stable, with some resolution of the
hematoma.
