IVC Filter Retrieval
The IVC filter is removed later using endovascular technique. Some thrombi are
trapped by the stent struts IVC Filter retrieval is not always straight forward. A long standing filter (in this patient, 5
months after implant) may be impacted and difficult to remove. A tilted filter can cause the
retrieval hook to be incorporated into the IVC wall rendering catching with a snare difficult.
