Carotid Stenting (CAS)

A 63-year-old man with history of NPC treated with Radiotherapy (RT) was referred to
us for incidental finding of severe right carotid stenosis and left carotid occlusion. Sub-
sequent CT scan (for planning of carotid stenting) showed left carotid occlusion with
a tiny stump (double arrow) and two tight carotid stenosis over right internal carotid
artery as well as the origin of the right common carotid artery (Arrow). This type of

extensive lesions are not uncommonly seen in patients with post- RT carotid stenosis.
             Right carotid stenting as performed.
