A bovine pericardial patch was used to close the femoral artery. It is biological, and
potentially has less infection risks. The patch was sewn in using CV6 sutures (GoreTex,
W. L. Gore & Associates, Az, USA).
This patient with severe lower limb ischaemia
underwent a common femoral endarterectomy. The
plaque was removed.
