Sapheno-Femoral Ligation and Stripping Pneumatic Compression

TRENDELENBURG OPERATION, or “flush” of “high” ligation of the sapheno-femoral junction
is the standard operation to treat varicose veins due to sapheno-femoral and great greater
saphenous vein (GSV) reflux. After ligation the GSV close to the SF Junction and dividing the
tributaries. A metal or plastic stripper is advanced (in this case caudally) into the GSV to exit a
site around the knee. The vein is tied to the stripper and the GSV is “stripped” from knee to Pneumatic Compression 480 Voice.mp4
