Aortic Anatomy
A 79 year old woman was found to have a large 10cm infrarenal AAA on CT coronary angiogram.
Large AAAs often have unfavorable anatomy for EVAR, as in this patient: The infrarenal “neck” is very
tortuous with 90 degree bends on two planes. The iliac arteries are also very tortuous. Open repair
would be the first choice unless the patient is medically unfit.
