After MR, the entire pharynx, cervical

esophagus (CE) and part of the upper

thoracic esophagus can be exposed

via the neck, with the lower limit

being the aortic arch (green lines).

MR enables resection of PE tumour

under direct vision ensuring adequate

proximal and distal resection

margins.

Any tracheal invasion (T) can be

exposed and resected with adequate

margins under direct vision.
LN

Superior mediastinal lymph nodes

(LN) can be removed in case of nodal

metastasis.
