Clinical, endoscopic and radiological examination

confirmed the presence of local recurrence with

extension into the CE. There were no

synchronous lesions in the remaining esophagus,

regional or distant metastasis.

PLCE was performed after MR. As shown in the

photo, the tumour was resected with 2cm

proximal and 3cm distal mucosal margins in

order to cater for submucosal spread and

satellite lesions.
