REGIONAL FLAPS
For more extensive defects,
tissue from areas further
away from the head and
neck region may be sought
for coverage such as the DP
fascio-cutaneous flap and PM
myo-cutaneous flap from the
anterior chest wall, and LD
myo-cutaneous flap from the Deltopectoral (DP) Flap
back.
These have classically been
considered the workhorse
flaps for head and neck
reconstruction due to it’s
robust blood supply and
ease of flap harvest.
Pectoralis Major (PM) Flap Latissimus Dorsi (LD) Flap
