Cook Zenith Alpha™ Thoracic Endovascular Graft

 THORACIC ENDOGRAFT

 (Thoracic Endovascular Repair (TEVAR)

TEVAR is now the preferred endovascular treatment
option of many thoracic aortic diseases, inclulding
aneurysms, aortic dissections, and traumatic rupture.
Most devices are nitinol stent based with a polyester
 or PTFE fabric cover.

Modern delivery systems are flexible and of smaller

calibre (18-22Fr). Additional challenges in TEVAR
include blood pressure control, accurate positioning,
proximal “beaking” effect, and anatomy concerns.
It is technically more demanding particularly in the
aortic arch in proximity to the three great vessels.

Stroke, retrograde aortic dissection, and paraplegia
 are unique potential serious complications.
