CO2 angiography should be used in experienced endovascular surgeons only. In the use of
CO2 angiography, the volume of CO2 and pressure depend on the injection site and artery
of interest.
CO2 angiogram is NOT indicated for use above the diaphragm, and it should NOT be used in
the coeliac or superior mesenteric arteries (very selected use in hepatic artery by very
experience endovascular radiologists only), with risks of gas embolism. Its main use is in the
infrarenal aorta and in the legs.
