PREFACE
Preface
A busy time for meetings, as our staff participated in the China Heart Con-
gress (CHC) 2021 with the 6th China Vascular Congress, The Taiwan Socie-
ty for Vascular Surgery Congress, the Australian and New Zealand Society
for Vascular Surgery Annual Scientific Conference, The US Western Vascu-
lar Society Congress, and the The 22nd Congress of the Asian Society for
Vascular Surgery.
We also held a very successful Vascular and Endovascular Course for Op-
erating Theatre Nurses, the first ever event in the territory. This was very
well attended and had hands-on sessions for many equipments and con-
sumables.
This issue of Virtual Vascular covered some unusual work such as EVAR in
patients with kidney transplants, arch aneurysms, radiation induce ca-
rotid occlusions, and pediatric problems. We also had our usual share of
emergencies from acute embolism, and iatrogenic problems.
With ever increasing demand for endovascular work, a brand new Angio-
suite was commissioned in Block C, G/F in QMH. This would be shared
across several specialties (but limited by support staff such as nurses,
radiographers, and anesthetists), and would ease the workload on emer-
gency neurovascular intervention, and lower-end endovascular work in
our division.
