Splenic Aneurysm
A 67-year old man with an inci-
dental finding a 3cm splenic artery
aneurysm. He is asymptomatic.
Generally treatment is only indicat-
ed when the size of the aneurysm
reaches 2 to 3 cm diameter, or if it
is symptomatic (or with pregnancy).
First choice is by coil embolization.
However this aneurysm is close to
the splenic hilum and there is a risk
of splenic infarct.
Alternative would be a splenecto-
my.
