                                               Infected Femoral Pseudoaneurysm

common problem in chronic intravenous drug abusers. Repeated accidental injec-
A tion of the common femoral artery led to an infected pseudoaneurysm. The pa-
tient can present with a groin mass or bleeding. Not to be mistaken for a groin abscess.
Treatment is by “triple” ligation (of the common, superficial, and deep femoral arteries).
Arterial reconstruction is rarely possible due to an infected field. May be combined with

chronic venous thrombosis. Sometimes the limb viability will be threatened.
