Emergency open repair of the patient with
a ruptured AAA. The aorta was replaced Aortic Anatomy
with a straight tube graft of woven Dacron.
A 68 year old man with an AAA but unfavorable anatomy for EVAR: The infrarenal “neck” is very an-
gled and his L common iliac is aneurysmal. Instead of pushing for a EVAR a standard open AAA repair
with a bifurcated graft will give durable results, given he is a younger patient. EVAR is not recom-
mended unless he is medically unfit.
