Venous Intervention

        A patient with CHRONIC venous occlusion of his left iliac veins, presenting with leg swell-
        ing.  There are abundant collaterals on venogram.  A stenosis at the left common iliac vein
        was identified and successfully recanalized with balloon angioplasty.


        Venous interventions are getting more common, but clear indications remain to be estab-

        lished.  Long term anticoagulation and patency issue are the main concerns.
