Varicose Vein Cyanoacrylate Glue Treatment
Glue.mp4
ndovenous Cyanoacrylate glue treatment for lower limb varicose vein using the Ve-
Enaseal System. (Non-ablative). After guide wire access and catheter placement just
distal to the sapheno-femoral junction under ultrsound guidance, a very small amount
of glue is introduced into the vein to glue the vein closed for later sclerosis and absorp-
tion.
The main advantage is that it does not require a large amount of local anaesthesia and
no tumescence. Unlike heat-based procedures such as endovenous laser or radiofre-
quency ablation, there is no risk of skin burns or nerve damage, and no compression
is required. Recanalization (up to 25% in one year) may be an issue, particularly with
larger veins.
