(I) ICG angiography
Indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescent imaging is
used as an adjunct for burn wound depth
assessment.
For superficial wounds patients will not need surgery.
For patients with full thickness burns, surgical
debridement is warranted.
For patients with superficial to deep dermal burns,
the role of surgery may be less apparent at initial
presentation. Prolonged dressing may lead to
hypertrophic scarring and yet early debridement
for all may lead to over-treatment.
