Lymphatic malformation
It is soft and compressible, and often causes
bony overgrowth. Combined venous and
lymphatic vascular anomalies are frequent.
Histologically it can be classified into
macrocystic and microcystic
Treatment
1) Compression, corticosteroids and
antibiotics for inflammatory episode
2) Sclerothrapy: Effective in macrocystic type
3) Laser ablation / surgery for cutaneous
lesions
Complications
Frequent infection: Antibiotics therapy
Morbidity after surgery: Prolonged wound
draining, slow wound healing, potential
infection and chance of recurrence
