Femoral Embolectomy for Acute Lower Limb Ischemia














                                                                                 Typical presentation of

                                                                                 acute limb ischemia:
                                                                                 Acute onset of lower limb
                                                                                 Pain, Paraesthesia, Pallor,

                                                                                 Pulseless, Paralysis and
                                                                                 Perishing cold.






          1. Clinical Diagnosis of acute left lower limb ischemia made by 6 x ‘P’s


          2. Initial Management:

          IV heparin bolus (5000 units or according to body weight)
          Prepare for emergency operation (femoral embolectomy)
