Aorto-Gastric Fistula
A 74-year old man presented with sudden massive GI bleeding (fresh melena) to
shock with a Hb of 7.1 g/dl. He had a history of oesophagogastrectomy for CA
Cardia five years ago. He had a episode of septicemia with Salmonella Gp D two
months ago.
Urgent upper endoscopy did not find any ulcers but a bleeding point associated
with a bulging pulsating mass. An endoscopic clip was applied to temporarily stop
the bleeding.
