Split thickness skin grafts are good for large non-weight bearing

areas, and areas where cosmesis is not a major concern.

Split thickness skin grafting can be performed provided that the
wound base has adequate blood supply, as seen in the healthy

pink granulation tissue bed of the top left photo (the island of
slough was debrided prior to skin grafting).

The skin graft is tacked to the wound at the peripheries,

trimmed to size, then dressed lightly.
