       Femoral Artery Aneurysm









































   PERIPHERAL ARTERY ANEURYSMS are rare, and mostly occur in the femoral / popliteal
   arteries.  These aneurysms seldom rupture, but instead produce pressure effects, or more important-
   ly, thromboembolic complications (distal embolism and acute thrombosis).  They should be repaired
   when they reached a certain size.  The pic above showed an open repair of a femoral aneurysm.
