Endovascular Stenting for Mycotic AAA Post-EVAR CT scan showing exclusion of the aneurysm

The gold standard of treatment for mycotic aortic aneurysm is resec-
tion and debridement of infective tissue graft replacement, which
might requires extra-anatomical bypass. This treatment carries high

operative mortality due to the extensive surgical procedures on patient
 with sepsis and different co-morbidities.

In this era, endovascular stenting could be another alternative treat-
ment to achieve sealing of the aneurysm to prevent rupture. A straight

aortic stent-graft is used to seal the aneurysm for this patient as emer-
gency. Completion Aortography shows adequate sealing of the aneu-

rysm. Patient is currently not septic on parental antibiotics. Follow up
imaging is needed to monitor the retroperitoneal infection.
