Lymphedema

 Lymphedema is the abnormal accumulation

of protein rich fluid in the subcutaneous tissue.

The deep muscle compartments are not

involved in this condition.

 It is more common in females than males

 Lower limbs are affected more frequently than

upper limbs

 It is a chronic and progressive condition that is

associated with both physical and

psychosocial implications.
