Secondary lymphedema















             Causes of secondary lymphedema includes

                the following:






             Lymph node dissection and radiotherapy

                are common iatrogenic cause






             Infective causes like Wuchereria Bancrofti

                leading to secondary lymphedema is the

                commonest cause worldwide, but it is

                uncommon in Hong Kong






             Neoplastic causes include intra-abdominal

                tumour or malignant lymph nodes can lead

                to obstruction and compression of

                lymphatic drainage which can result in

                secondary lymphedema .
