Left. Trans-oral robotic reconstruction is performed after microvascular
anastomosis and restoration of perfusion of the jejunum. Accurate
placement of sutures can be achieved during the anastomosis between
the oropharynx (OP) and the proximal end of the free jejunal flap (FJ).
Right. Completion of pharyngo-jejunal anastomosis circumferentially.
Watertight suturing between the oropharynx (OP) and the free jejunal
flap (FJ) is crucial to prevent salivary leakage and the development of
pharyngo-cutaneous fistula.
