Saphenous Varix














































    Venous tributaries arising from the GSV that required ligation during Trendelenburg operation



















 A Saphenous Varix is a focal dilatation of the proximal Great Saphenous vein which may present as a
 groin lump.  A cough impulse may be present.  It has to be differentiated from a femoral hernia.


 Saphenous varix may has a bluish tinge of colour, and venous flow signal can be heard by ausculta-
 tion or use of hand-held Doppler.
