nother appearance of a chronic ulcer in a 80-year old man. The ulcer appeared spontaneously
Aand progressed with self applied ointments for three months. The appearance and location still
suggested a chronic venous ulcer. Initial treatment would be wound care and compression dressing.
Failing this in-patient treatment and possibly biopsy of the deeper central ulcer may be required.
Two weeks of compression bandage and dressing resulted in a good improve-
ment and evidence of healing. This is a good sign that the cause is indeed from
venous hypertension.
