nother appearance of a chronic ulcer in a 80-year old man.  The ulcer appeared spontaneously
    Aand progressed with self applied ointments for three months.  The appearance and location still
    suggested a chronic venous ulcer.  Initial treatment would be wound care and compression dressing.
    Failing this in-patient treatment and possibly biopsy of the deeper central ulcer may be required.



                                                                                                                                       Two weeks of compression bandage and dressing resulted in a good improve-
                                                                                                                                       ment and evidence of healing.  This is a good sign that the cause is indeed from
                                                                                                                                       venous hypertension.
