A frozen elephant trunk

A frozen elephant trunk is a hybrid procedure with combines the open repair
of the aortic arch with the endovascular stent grafting of the proximal

descending thoracic aorta. This is one of the methods to treat extensive aortic
arch and thoracic aortic diseases.

Future endovascular repair with TEVAR can
be extended into the distal part of the
frozen elephant trunk to treat disease

involving the distal aorta
