Leiomyosarcoma (LMS)

 A malignant tumour of smooth muscle

 1-2% of all soft tissue tumours

 Benign counter part: leiomyoma

 Cutaneous LMS usually presents as a smooth

reddish dermal nodule

 Arises from dermal smooth muscle, erector pili
and the smooth muscle surrounding eccrine

glands.

 High risk of local recurrence
