Biopsy of all suspicious lesion

Ultrasound guided fine needle

aspiration for cytology of suspicious

regional lymph node enlargement to

rule out metastasis

Contrast MRI and whole-body PET-CT

for disease staging

Treatment

Excision with 3cm circumferential

margins as well as adequate deep

margin

Frozen section is used to ensure

adequate microscopic tumour

clearance prior to wound closure

Adjuvant radiotherapy may be

warranted
