Cleft lip nose deformities

 Cleft lip is associated with nasal deformities.

 The common nasal deformities features:

                Deviated nasal spine, columella, and
nasal septum towards the cleft side

Separation of depressed alar cartilage at

                   dome of nasal tip

                Alar base displaced cephalic and

                   posterior

                Dislocation of upper lateral cartilage
                   from lower lateral cartilage

                Shortened columella

 Indication for surgical correction mainly is

cosmesis and the aim is to achieve

               symmetry

 Option of primary rhinoplasty (during initial

cleft lip repair) and secondary rhinoplasty
               (until adolescence )
