IMAGING

MRI / CT scan provide a more accurate

assessment regarding tumour location and

extent of invasion. Any cervical lymph node

metastasis can also be demonstrated and

relationship with surrounding structures and

major vessels can be assessed.

MRI offers superior soft tissue

differentiation whereas CT enables better

assessment of bone and cartilage

involvement.

Whole-body PET scan can provide

additional information regarding distant Contrast MRI showing carcinoma of right tongue

metastasis.
