SURGICAL RESECTION

Primary tumour is resected with 1.5cm radial margins

and deep margins around the ulcer and submucosal

induration.

After resection of tumour, frozen section of radial and A

deep resection margins are taken from patient-side to

ascertain microscopic clearance prior to wound

closure.

A. Carcinoma of right lateral tongue with the extent of induration
marked. B. After resection of tumour with 1.5cm margins around

inked margin, resulting in a hemi-glossectomy defect.
